NEWS FROM THE TRAIL

January 2007 - Sierra Art Trails Rides Again!

Over the last five years Sierra Art Trails has become the largest and most expansive art event in the Yosemite foothills.  This year the show stretches from Catheys Valley to North Fork, and involves more than 15 communities in Madera and Mariposa counties.

2007 is a special year for Sierra Art Trails marking the event’s 5th Anniversary. The date is set for Saturday & Sunday, October 13th & 14th 2007. The call for participation will begin 2/1/07. Applications will be mailed to artists on our mailing list, or available at Stellar Gallery or Williams Gallery West. The application will also be downloadable from the event web site. Also this year, Sierra Art Trails will be having a fundraiser in May!!! Look to future newsletters for more details.  To all of you who participated in past years, we hope you will join us again for this special 5th Anniversary event!

Stellar Gallery, headquarters for Sierra Art Trails

showcases one S.A.T. artist each month.

January’s artist of the month is Multi-Media Artist

Kathy Marks

Kathy is at her best when her work is free and intuitive. Her images creatively unfold by using the contrasts and textures of richly colored fabric, beading and touches of handwork. Each piece has an abstract sense of perspective. Her small-framed treasures, will love, grace, and capture the beauty of small things. Kathy’s works are a “One of a kind”, each having its own uniqueness.

Kathy’s work will be on display @ Stellar Gallery starting Jan 6th.

She will be demonstrating on Sat., Jan. 27th during “A Day With the Artist”.

Stellar Gallery is located at GALLERY ROW, 40983 Hwy 41, Suite 1
