Sierra Art Trails 2007 Call to Artists ends April 15th

A Question of Time - Kathleen MattoxIf you are interested in entering the show, and have not received an application by mail, they are available at Stellar Gallery and Williams Gallery West in Oakhurst, and can also be downloaded from www.sierraarttrails.org.  Application deadline is April 15th 2007.  If you are planning to enter, but are delayed in submitting your application, please let us know by phone or email.  DON’T FORGET! Any artist participating in SAT 2007 can enter the Catalog Cover Contest!  This is a fabulous opportunity to promote your work.  Submit work for the cover contest with your SAT 2007 application.  Visit the event web site for details http://www.sierraarttrails.org/cover_contest.htm.  Cover Contest deadline is April 15th 2007.  

OFF THE WALL! – Sierra Art Trails 2007 Fundraiser

Mark your calendar for Sierra Art Trails Fundraising Extravaganza “OFF THE WALL” The event will take place on Saturday, May 12, 2007 from 5 to 9 PM, at the Golden Chain Theatre in Oakhurst. This gala event will include an exciting evening of avant-garde entertainment, including music, modern dance, performance art, and spoken word, delectable hors douvres catered by Three Sisters Café, Amoré Mio restaurant, and Crab Cakes, no host bar, live art auction, and a silent auction. Our goal is to create an innovative night of artistic entertainment that will become a long-standing tradition!   

 

Tickets are now available at Williams Gallery West or Stellar Gallery in Oakhurst, or Shockley Designs in Mariposa. Ticket Price is 25.00 per person, 200.00 per table for businesses ( with your logo prominently displayed ).  Tickets can be purchased by phone by calling 559-658-0432 or 559-658-8844

Call to Advertisers and Sponsors!   

SAT is seeking advertisers for the Sierra Art Trails 2007 catalog, and sponsors to help us to fund the show. Funds raised by Sierra Art Trails not only make the event possible, but also fund art scholarships, grants for working artists, arts organizations, and public art projects. “The Work Talks” Jewelry artist Joy McClure  

A Day with the Artist - April 14 - 11 AM to 5 PM at Stellar Gallery.

Stellar Gallery showcases one Sierra Art Trails artist each month.  March’s artist of the month is jewelry artist Joy McClure.

 

Joy McClure works in enameling, silversmithing, casting, and intricate weaving and braiding. She will have jewelry displayed and for sale at Stellar Gallery from April 14th through Mother’s Day. Joy will be demonstrating casting, Kumihimo braiding and Inkle weaving, and how each discipline pertains to jewelry making on April 14th from 11 AM to 5 PM.

Sierra Saturday Art Hop

Spring has returned, and like the robin and the daffodils, so has Sierra Art Hop!  Beginning April 14th, Sierra Art Hop will take place on the second Saturday of each month, from 11 AM to 5 PM.  Participating galleries will host visiting artists, present demonstrations and other activities, and will offer light refreshments.  Current participants include Grimmer Gallery, Stavast Studio Gallery, Stellar Gallery, Timberline Gallery, and Williams Gallery West in Oakhurst, as well as Anne Bredon's Looney Bin and the Paul Henry Abram Community Art Gallery in North Fork.

SAT is seeking volunteers to work on a variety of tasks including event planning, catalog development and distribution, marketing and advertising, graphic design, docents, student mentors, and fundraisingVolunteers make it happen!
