NEWS FROM THE TRAIL

4/8/2010

Hello Artists, Artisans, Supporters, and Friends,

The Sierra Art Trails Open Studio Tour application deadline is coming soon. ( April 15th )  If you are planning to participate please submit your application as soon as possible, and encourage other artists you know to join in this year's show!

The 2010 exhibit has more support than ever.  Our communities are proud of our contributions over the past seven years, and offer their support in many ways. Sponsorships from the Yosemite Sierra Visitor's Bureau, Chukchansi Gold Casino Resort, Sierra Sky Ranch and many others, have made it possible for us to advertise in Sunset, Sierra Arts and Culture, and Sierra Heritage magazines.  Our regional press has shown their support as well, with regular coverage in the Madera Tribune, Fresno Bee, Sierra Star, and Mariposa Gazette.  In the current economic climate, it is important that we work together to support the arts in our area, and present the public with the rich creative community and diverse natural and cultural resources we have to offer.  By promoting ourselves and our area we are encouraging tourism and benefiting the economy of our entire region.

The call for catalog advertisers is open through June 1st.  The catalog is used by many people as a reference guide for artists, galleries, and cultural events that take place throughout the area.  In addition to regional businesses, historical sites, museums, and area attractions, we also encourage artists, organizations, and event organizers to consider promoting their activities and events through the SAT catalog. Advertising for individual artists or Open Studio Tour group sites is also a good idea.

The catalog is released at the end of July, making it an ideal vehicle for events, exhibits, classes, workshops, or festivals that take place from August through the following Summer.   The 2009 catalog included ads for CSU Summer Arts, Madera County Fall Festivals, Sierra Saturday Art Hop, Fresno Art Hop, the Oakhurst Chocolate and Wine Festival, Yosemite Western Artists and more.
